Class of 2017 Brings in Millions in College Scholarships and Awards

Providence is proud to announce that the Class of 2017 is continuing the legacy of success at our school! The senior class is made up of 52 amazing and intelligent young women who are ready to take on the world. Collectively, the class has earned over $13.2 million in college scholarships, grants and awards! We can proudly say that 100% of these Provets will be graduating on May 22nd and that all have been accepted into a college or university. Over 20% of the senior class earned $250,000 or more in scholarships, grants and awards, 6% earned $500,000 or more and 8% earned $700,000 or more! The 2017 Valedictorian, Gabriela Victoria Trevino, earned nearly $800,000 in scholarships and awards and was accepted into nine different colleges and universities. This Fall she will begin her college career at Brown University. The 2017 Salutatorian, Lilah Kalista Qubrosi, is a Voelcker Scholar and was accepted into 12 different colleges and universities. Lilah was offered over $1 million in scholarships and awards from the schools that she applied to. She has selected to attend Southern Methodist University this Fall! The Class of 2017 worked hard academically and in their applications in order to be accepted into various prestigious schools. Providence's Counselor, Evelyn Griess, has guided Provets as they apply to colleges for the last thirteen years. When asked if she felt if this year's list of acceptances and awards were the best yet, she replied that she believes "every year is a great year," and that every year the Provets work extremely hard for their achievements. The list of colleges and universities include Our Lady of the Lake University, University of Texas at Austin, Wellesley College, St. Mary's University, Hofstra University, Fordham University, University of Texas at San Antonio, Texas A&M University - College Station, Trinity University, Colorado School of Mines, University of Rochester, Stevens Institute of Technology, Rhodes College and many more.
