Middle School Division - Social studies courses are not only focused on specific geographies or time periods, but on acquiring the skills necessary to continue in studying history and geography. Sixth graders study world geography and world cultures. In seventh grade the focus is on Texas history and southwestern America. The eighth graders concentrate on American history from its beginnings to the post-Civil War reconstruction era. There are several investigative projects required throughout the year.

The social studies curriculum also looks at the issues of the past and the present in light of the Church’s social teachings and strives to make students aware of the dignity of each human being and the effect decisions have on the environment, social institutions, governments, and on the future of the world.

Ancient Civilizations is offered to sixth grade students. In this course they learn about the ancient Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians and their contributions to our modern world. This is an enrichment course with numerous hands-on projects to help students appreciate the culture of these ancient peoples.

High School Division - The Social Studies curriculum is designed to allow the student to obtain a solid background in Geography, World History, U.S. History and Government.
