Departments: Grades 6-12

Academic Departments at Providence meet regularly to plan, assess, and learn together. Each department sends teachers during summer to workshops provided by the College Board on Advance Placement Teaching Strategies as well as to subject specific workshops when available.

Additionally, the departments work tirelessly to refine a curriculum which is seamless, integrated and vertically aligned from grades 6 – 12. What this means for the Providence student is that no matter what grade level, she is assured of learning skills that both complement and build on those skills learned the year before.

With 34 faculty members, Providence provides, on average, an 11:1 student teacher ratio. 60% of our educators have a Master’s Degree or higher. Five Sisters from the Congregation of Divine Providence are included among the faculty and staff.
