Powerful Leadership

  • Internship - Seniors can take 1 or 2 semesters of internship at the profession of their choice and explore potential careers and fields of interest. Each student is given the opportunity to integrate their academic study with the workplace.  Past student internships include WOAI-TV, San Antonio Symphony, San Antonio Women’s Chamber of Commerce, architectural firms, City Council offices, doctor and dental offices and  schools.

  •  Broadcast Journalism - Students learn about all aspects of the broadcasting field including producing a live daily school broadcast (Provet-TV), mini-movies, and commercials as well as creating documentaries and narratives. Students in this class are responsible for floor production, camera operations, and teleprompts.                                 

  • JROTC – Providence offers JROTC for young women through Central Catholic High School. Students enrolled in the ROTC program develop personal and small group relationship skills, leadership and management skills and participate in community service events and compete at the State and National level.

Each year 100% of Providence graduates are accepted to a college or university of their choice. Students have been accepted to top local, state, and national schools such as Stanford, Purdue, the United States Military Academy at West Point, Marquette, Johns-Hopkins, The Air Force Academy, Notre Dame, Swarthmore, and many more.

Also, each year more than 100% of the graduating class earns in excess of 10 million dollars in scholarships and grants. For the first time in its history, Providence Catholic School has had two applicants for the Naval ROTC Scholarship awarded nationally. Both Applicants have been awarded this scholarship, making it a rare exception that 100% of applicants have been awarded this scholarship. Providence has also had two Gates Millennium Scholarship recipients in recent years.
