Computer/Laptop Requirements

PCS Technology Requirements for both Online and In-Person learning.

Computer/Laptop Requirements

  • Macintosh or Windows computer 
  • Operating System: Windows 10 or Mac OS X (10.14 or higher)
  • Hard Drive: 128GB
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Processor: i5 intel (8th gen) Processor or similar (i.e., AMD)
  • A webcam with microphone capabilities
  • Speakers and/or headphones

Software Requirements

  • The latest version of Java  
  • The latest version of QuickTime
  • The latest version of Adobe Reader  
  • Current word processing software* 

Browser Requirements

  • Google Chrome 

Internet Access

  • Broadband Internet connection is required. Examples of broadband Internet connection are high-speed DSL or a Cable modem.
  • Use of e-mail**

PlusPortals - GIves student & parents secure, access to grades, scores, attendance, schedule, and homework. Student & parents can view school announcements, alerts and student personalized, combined calendar. Additional 3rd party Apps that maybe required

EdPuzzle - Students aren't required to have an Edpuzzle account, which means they won't need to create a username or password. On the other hand, if a teacher needs to record your students' progress on an assignment, then students must have an Edpuzzle account. Please check with your teacher(s). Accessible via Internet browser and/or App for mobile devices.

Kahoot - Teachers use a game-based learning platform that makes it easy for them to create, share and play learning games or trivia quizzes in minutes. Students do NOT need to create an account. Accessible via Internet browser and/or App for mobile devices.

NoRedInk - Builds stronger writers through interest-based curriculum, adaptive exercises, and actionable data. Students ARE required to create a NoRedInk account. Please check with your teacher(s) for instructions. Accessible via Internet browser.

Loom - Loom is a video recording tool that helps teachers get their message across through instantly shareable videos. Students do NOT need to create an account. Accessible via Internet browser and/or App for mobile devices.

Nearpod - An award-winning student engagement platform with ready-to-run interactive lessons for K-12 teachers. Students can explore interactive lessons and interactive technology for the classroom that students love. Students do NOT need to create an account. Accessible via Internet browser and/or App for mobile devices.

Quizlet - Makes simple learning tools that let you study anything. Start learning today with flashcards, games and learning tools from your teachers. Students do NOT need to create a Quizlet account unless they wish to create their own flashcards. Accessible via Internet browser and/or App for mobile devices.

Seterra - A map quiz game, used by teachers and is available online. Students can quickly learn to locate countries, capitals, cities, rivers lakes and much more on a map. Students do NOT need to create an account. Accessible via Internet browser and/or App for mobile devices.

DeltaMath - is an instructional tool that teachers use to assign independent work with a certain amount of problems given for students to solve. The type of problem is chosen by the teacher and can be one main topic, or a variety of smaller topics. Students will need to create an account. Accessible via Internet browser

DuoLingo - Personalized education. Everyone learns in different ways. For the first time in history, we can analyze how millions of people learn at once to create the most effective educational system possible and tailor it to each student. Our ultimate goal is to give everyone access to a private tutor experience through technology. Students will need to create an account.
